An independent accessibility practice, not a scanning tool
Europlabs was founded in 2023 to do one thing properly: tell European product teams the truth about whether their digital services are usable by disabled people, and what it will actually take to fix them.
What we do
We audit websites, web applications and mobile apps against WCAG 2.2 level AA, EN 301 549 and the accessibility requirements of Directive (EU) 2019/882 — the European Accessibility Act. We also review cookie banners and consent implementations against the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive, because in practice the same teams own both problems and both carry regulatory exposure.
We are an auditing practice. We do not sell an overlay widget, a plugin or a subscription that claims to make a site compliant automatically. Those products do not work, and several have themselves become the subject of enforcement action. What we sell is testing, judgement and a written record you can act on and defend.
How we test
Every engagement combines automated scanning with manual testing, because automation alone finds only a fraction of real barriers. Our manual pass covers:
- Keyboard-only operation of every interactive component, including focus order, focus visibility and escape routes from modals and menus.
- Screen reader testing with NVDA on Windows and VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, covering name, role, value and state for custom components.
- Zoom and reflow at 400% and at 320 CSS pixels wide, checking for content loss and horizontal scrolling.
- Colour and contrast measurement against the 4.5:1 and 3:1 thresholds, including non-text UI components and focus indicators.
- Motion and timing, including reduced-motion preferences, auto-playing content and session timeouts.
- Forms and error handling, which is where the majority of blocking failures cluster in transactional services.
How we price
Fixed price, quoted per engagement, agreed in writing before any work begins. We scope by page template and user journey rather than by URL count, because twelve product pages built from one template are one testing problem, not twelve. Our published pricing page shows the bands we work in and exactly what sits inside each one.
What we will tell you honestly
Three things we say regularly, and would rather say before you buy:
- An audit is not compliance. It is a measurement. Compliance comes from the remediation work your team does afterwards.
- We are not a law firm. We report technical conformance against published standards. Legal risk assessment under your national implementing law is a question for your counsel.
- Some findings will be expensive. If a component needs rebuilding, we will say so rather than suggest a patch that hides the problem from scanners without helping any actual user.
Working with us
We work with in-house product and engineering teams, digital agencies delivering for regulated clients, and public-sector suppliers who need a documented conformance position. Engagements run remotely across the EU and are delivered in English.
Registered as Europlabs OÜ. Contact details, registration and VAT numbers are on our legal notice.
